Lake Blue Ridge day trips from Aska Lodge

Back to Aska Lodge home  |  Breakfast and arrival guide  |  Rooms  |  Dining picks in town

Guests ask us almost every week how to spend a full day on Lake Blue Ridge without feeling rushed. The lake sits a short drive from our wooded property in the Aska Adventure Area, so you can sleep in, enjoy breakfast at the lodge, and still have time on the water.

Marinas, ramps, and easy starts

Public ramps and full-service marinas ring the lake. If you are renting a pontoon, reserve early on summer weekends and confirm where the outfitter wants you to board. Bring sunscreen, layered clothing, and a dry bag for phones. Ask us the morning of your trip and we will share which access points have been least crowded lately.

Quiet coves and picnic stops

Midweek travelers often prefer the upper lake arms where boat traffic thins out. Pack sandwiches or pick up takeout in downtown Blue Ridge on your way through. Carry trash back to the lodge, keep noise low near shoreline homes, and watch for swimmers near docks.

After you return

We love hearing which beach or cove you liked best. When you are ready to plan meals around your lake day, our dining page lists steady favorites in town. For timing your morning before you leave for the marina, see the breakfast and arrival guide. Ready to book nights with us? Start from the homepage or jump straight to rooms.
